Double pass a hit with BLACKCAPS fans

Sports fans have snapped up a unique double-header ticket offer to international cricket and rugby league at Eden Park in March.

Since tickets for The National Bank Series went on sale 39% of purchases have been for the package of the BLACKCAPS ODI against South Africa and Vodafone Warriors fixture against the Sea Eagles on the weekend of the 3rd and 4th of March.

“It’s not only excellent value for live sport but presents a great opportunity to introduce new fans to both codes,” said NZC Commercial Manager Peter Dwan.

Dwan said the Test win over Australia in Hobart has had positive impact on cricket and was likely to boost ticket sales throughout The National Bank summer of international cricket.

“There’s a feel good factor about cricket at the moment and that has been reflected by the success of the HRV Cup and unprecedented media interest in the opening fixture of the Zimbabwe tour against New Zealand.

“Traditionally cricket fans buy on the day but we are noticing a trend towards pre-purchasing.  The need for New Zealander’s to get in early for the Rugby World Cup seems to be impacting buying behaviours and people are more aware of the benefits associated with advance purchasing like guaranteed seating, no ticketing queues and price.”
