Kia Ora from the Caribbean!
It’s been a week since we jumped on the plane and left New Zealand. The body clock has adjusted and knowing that when I wake up in the morning it’s going to be hot sunny day is a great feeling!

It was good to get stuck into trainings straight away and we’ve also had two warm up games. These have helped us adjust to the conditions in terms of the grounds and also the weather.
Yesterday we trained in the morning and then we went on a tour of St Kitts. This was a wonderful opportunity for us to travel through the small villages, get a taste of the culture and also see some of the local attractions.
At one point we headed up to start with what seemed like any old hill but when we hit the top we realised it was more than just that. We were at Brimstone Hill Fortress. The 38 acre structure, constructed between the 1690’s and 1790’s is situated on the upper slopes of an 800 foot high mountain with superb views all around. The cameras certainly got a good work out.
What better way to enjoy dinner than out on a catamaran after a hard afternoon of sight seeing. To sum it up - this was amazing. The few hours we spent on a boat, watching the sunset and having dinner was a wonderful way to relax. Words can’t really give the experience justice.
Anyway, after playing tourist yesterday afternoon it was back to business today. Fitness in the morning and training in the afternoon meant our day went by fairly quickly. I’m just back from a brief team meeting where we discussed our tactics for tomorrows game and now it’s time for bed.
Hopefully the hotel staff will finish walking around delivering peoples laundry soon. Its now after ten and most of us fade after dinner!
Can’t wait to officially kick start the tourney tomorrow as we take on India.
Bring it!
