Heavy rain has delayed the start of the Chappell-Hadlee Trophy cricket series decider between New Zealand and Australia.
The covers were still on the pitch at the Gabba at the scheduled coin toss at 3.45pm (NZT), with rain still falling and thick cloud showing little sign of clearing.
Brisbane was hit by heavy downpours throughout the morning.
The Bureau of Meteorology forecast a mostly cloudy Black Friday in Brisbane with a few showers, tending to rain at times.
The one positive was the Gabba being known as one of fastest drying grounds in world cricket, if the rain cleared.
Curator Kevin Mitchell said the latest play could start was 9.30pm (NZT), which would enable the required minimum of 20 overs-per-side to constitute a match.
A washout, leaving the series tied 2-2, would see Australia retain the trophy as current holders.
It would be the second shared series in the competition's four-year history, with the original 2004-05 series left frustratingly poised 1-1 when the decider in Brisbane was abandoned.
