Day three

Northern Districts A second innings 201 (K Bettley 35, T Davies 44; N Beard 5/55, BJ Barnett 2/53)New Zealand Under 19’s 39/4 (T Davis 2/23)

The three day match between the New Zealand Under 19’s and Northern Districts A in Taupo ended in a draw.  New Zealand declared shortly after passing Northern’s total on day two and were able to roll their opposition for 201 in their second innings but didn’t have enough time to make a serious attempt at the win.  Te Ahu Davies top scored for Northern with 44 and Keir Bettley was next best on 35.  New Zealand Under 19 bowler Nicholas Beard was tight and accurate taking five for 55 with BJ Barnett taking two for 53.

The New Zealand Under 19's finish their internal tour with two one-day matches against Auckland A at Cornwall Park on Thursday 12 February and Friday 13 February.  These matches will be scored live on www.blackcaps.co.nz.

Day two

Northern Districts A first innings 298: New Zealand Under 19’s first innings 303/7 dec (C Cachopa 76, Tom Latham 42, L Van Beek 38, J Neesham 33; B James 2/36, T Davies 2/79) Northern Districts A second innings 40-2

The New Zealand Under 19’s declared on 303 for seven to give them a narrow five run lead heading into their final day of their three day match against Northern Districts A in Taupo.  Captain Craig Cachopa led the way with a fine 76 with the in form Tom Latham making 42.  Latham has recorded scores of 82, 34*, 36 and now 42 in the New Zealand Under 19’s internal tour.  Te Ahu Davies and B James took two wickets each for Northern before the declaration came. Northern A will resume tomorrow on 40 for two.

Day one

Northern Districts A 298 (I Page 100, K Bettley 104; A Verma 4/43, J Neesham 2/20)  NZ Under 19's 36

Northern Districts A won the toss and chose to bat making 298 on the first day of the three day match against New Zealand Under 19's in Taupo.  The total was built around centuries from Ian Page (100) and Keir Bettley (104).  Anurag Verma was the pick of the bowlers for New Zealand taking four for 43 with James Neesham returning two for 20.  The New Zealand Under 19's will resume tomorrow on 36 without loss.
