Auckland began their 2nd innings very early in the day taking Wellingtons last 3 wickets in just 4 balls. Auckland started with a solid opening partnership of 40 between Henry Blackwell and Elliot Herd before collapsing to 85-5. A spirited 42 of 42 balls from number 9 Tom Ellis took Auckland to an all out total of 176. Harry Wright taking an amazing 5-45 of 23.2 over’s and Tom Gibson taking 3-35. Wellington needing 153 to win but never looked like making it collapsing to 9-3. The only contribution of any note was 37 off 45 balls from Matt Taylor; the only other player achieving double figures was Harry Wright with 12. Ish Sodhi finished with the outstanding figures of 4-15 of 8 over’s well supported by Jayden Morris 3-10 taking 3 of the first 4 wickets in his first 3 overs. Also of note are five dismissals by keeper Craig Cachopa. Auckland win outright by 64 runs.
Northern Districts vs Otago
Otago; 1st Innings 240 off 82.2 over’s (A Simpson 71, J Horrel 40, R Darkins 4-88, J Wilkinson 3-17) to Northern Districts;1st Innings 321-9 of 107 over’s (E McKillop 43, A Vodnal 42, S Davey 39, C Ware 2-31, A Simpson 2-34)
Northern Districts resuming from an overnight 38-1 batted throughout the day taking 1st innings points before declaring at 321-9 of 107 over’s. All but one of the Northern batsman achieved double figures with Eli McKillop top scoring with 43 of 91 balls, Ash Vodnala 42 and Sean Davey 39 making very useful contributions. The Otago bowlers toiled throughout the day sharing the wickets between them, the best figures being achieved by Chris Ware with 2-31. Northern Districts winning on 1st innings points.
Canterbury vs Central Districts
Canterbury; 1st Innings 339-7 dec of 89 over’s (C McConchie 151, T Latham 58, H Nicholls 47, T Richards 2-57) to Central Districts; 173 off 60 over’s (D Cleaver 80, W Young 26, I West 20, T Van Woerkom 5-34, C Johnston 3-29) and Central Districts; 200-4 off 63 over’s (B Wheeler 101 no, T Richards 40 no, M Henry 2-31)
Central Districts starting the day at 38 without loss quickly lost wickets being dismissed for 173, Dane Cleaver scoring 80 and Young 26 being the only CD batsman to make contributions today in their first innings. Theo Van Woerkom had the CD batsmen bamboozled with a stunning 5 wicket bag. Central Districts where asked to follow on, finishing 166 behind on 1st innings. They made a poor start struggling to 55-4 before an unbeaten partnership of 145 between Ben Wheeler (101 no) and Tim Richards (40 no) saved CD from being beaten outright. Matt Henry did the early damage taking 2-31 of 7 over’s with Chris Johnstone finishing with a tidy 1-9 of 5 over’s.

After being inserted by Wellington Auckland made a poor start reaching 51-6 at lunch of 35 over’s. The highest partnership of the innings was 32 for the 7th wicket between Daniel Burney (37) and Travis Brown. The highlights of the Wellington bowling where Charlie McLean with 3-21 of 13 over’s and Tom Gibson 3-20 of 12 over’s.
Wellington made a very poor start in reply to Auckland’s 1st innings struggling to 36-6 after excellent spells from Jayden Morris 3-27 and Joshua Presland 2-22. However an unbeaten 42 from Sam Lawson saw them through to 1st innings points at the close of the day, he was well supported by Luke Boydjian 27, and Tom Gibson 14 not out.
Northern Districts vs Otago

Otago made a good start with the bat today with a 1st innings total of 240. Ashley Simpson top scored with a well made 71 from 128 balls, he was well supported by Jordan Horrell, 40, in the middle order. Putting together a partnership of 63 in 78 minutes. Rory Darkins was the leading wicket taker for ND with 4-88 from 17 over’s, in addition Jonny Wilkinson had excellent figures of 3-17 from 10.2 over’s. Northern Districts made a steady reply being 38-1 at the close of the 1st day with Ashley Abraham and Ash Vodnala not out over night
Canterbury vs Central Districts

Canterbury made the most of being put into bat by Central Districts amassing the day’s highest score of 339-7 with Cole McConchie scoring the tournaments 1st century with an excellent 151 of 248 balls. He was well supported by Tom Latham 58 and Henry Nicholls 47. The most successful of the CD bowlers was Tim Richards with 2-57 of 17 over’s, the rest of the wickets being shared by the CD bowlers. Central Districts made a solid start with both openers being not out over night leaving a long run chase on the 2nd day.
