Cricket Laws updated

As the game of cricket evolves and develops, so too do the Laws of the game.

The MCC Laws of Cricket 2000 code – 4th edition 2010 is now available for all cricket enthusiasts, players, umpires and coaches.

"Cricket is constantly changing, so it is important to keep up with the changes in the Laws,” said New Zealand Cricket’s Umpire Manager Rodger McHarg. “It doesn’t matter whether you are an umpire, player, coach or just a keen supporter, it is a great opportunity to be well prepared for the new season by taking the opportunity to grab a new Law book, with the compliments of New Zealand Cricket and the MCC and keep up with the Laws of the game.”

Eight key changes have been made to the latest book, including the Laws around ground weather and light, the toss, no balls and practice on the field. MCC have also modernised the Laws to make them easier to understand.

The changes to the Laws take effect from the start of our next season – 01 October 2010.

The new Law book is available from New Zealand Cricket for free. To obtain a copy contact McHarg via email on rmcharg@nzcricket.org.nz
