Bollinger's success is simple

By his own admission Doug Bollinger was not at his best in the One-Day series but has come to life in the longer form of the game with fiery spells that have tortured the BLACKCAPS line up.

In the Chappell/Hadlee series the burly left arm quick took just four wickets at 57.75 with an economy rate at tick under six.

Doug Bollinger leads the team off the field after taking five wickets.

Coming into the start of day four Bollinger has seven wickets at just 8.28 and the formula is simple, “. I just feel like the ball is coming out of my hand well at the moment and just really enjoying the cricket,” he said.

“I try to bowl aggressive and be in the batsmen’s face and try and make them as uncomfortable as I can and I think that’s what a fast bowlers job is to do.”

“Obviously confidence is a big factor, but I just made sure when I got my second game for Australia I was just going to enjoy it, just do what I have been doing playing for New South Wales and just really enjoying it.

Bollinger’s formula is very uncomplicated and that is what he identifies as the key to his success, “if I start thinking too much outside the square I go a bit sideways so just really enjoying it and keeping everything simple.”

“I still get nervous. Its something that I have always wanted to do, growing up my whole life and now it’s in front of me and I just really enjoy it and want to do well,” he added.
