New Zealand Cricket (NZC) today confirmed that Bob Carter will join the BLACKCAPS unit as Assistant Coach.
Carter, 52, has been Head Coach of the Canterbury Wizards since 2008 after spending a number of seasons supporting the BLACKCAPS while John Bracewell was Head Coach. He also spent time coaching Northamptonshire in the County competition and has experience working with New Zealand A sides.
High Performance Director John Buchanan said he was thrilled to have secured the services of such a high calibre coach to support the team.
“Bob brings a wealth of experience to the role having coached with Northamptonshire, Canterbury and with the BLACKCAPS and will provide valuable support to Head Coach, Mike Hesson, and captain, Ross Taylor.
“He will help provide the right balance within the coaching group and complements the skill-set of the rest of the unit,” said Buchanan.
“Bob is excited about the opportunity to coach at international level again and is looking forward to the responsibility and the challenge of working with the BLACKCAPS.”
Carter will join the BLACKCAPS ahead of the upcoming tour of India.
