Half-centuries by Lucy Doolan and Liz Scurr ensured victory for Wellington Blaze over Northern Spirit and ensured the capital side moved above their visitors in the final State League table.
Doolan (59) and Scurr (56) shared a 96-run partnership for the fourth wicket as Wellington completed victory in 44.2 overs.
However, Nicola Browne provided the match’s top score, making an unbeaten 84 in ND’s 199 for nine.
The result was a reversal of Saturday’s game, which saw Wellington’s Megan Wakefield end on the losing side despite a top score of 84.
Mindy Hodgson provided 52 in a stand of 133 with Wakefield, moving the Blaze to 215 for six after struggling at 40 for four.
But after Mandie Godliman’s 52 started the reply well, Browne (49) and Kate Pulford (40) put the Spirit on a winning footing.
