A strong bowling display by the BLACKCAPS led to a tight nine run win over Indian domestic team Maharashtra in a 50-over warm up match in Darwin today.
After losing the toss and batting first the BLACKCAPS were rolled for 173 but then managed to keep Maharashtra to 164.
Opener BJ Watling top scored with 55 while Daryl Tuffey chipped in with a useful 26 towards the end of the innings.
Maharashtra got of to a decent reply and looked like causing an upset at 93 for three but the experienced BLACKCAPS bowling attack reeled them in with timely wickets and tight bowling.
Jacob Oram was the best with three for 29 while Kyle Mills took two for 28.
