Virender Sehwag sent the crowd into a frenzy with a spectacular knock of 87 not out to give Delhi an eight wicket win. Earlier in the match Ryder was unable continue his scintillating form, bowled by Irfan Pathan for nought. Ross Taylor was only called upon at the end of the run chase, but made no mistake and helped to see his side home with four overs remaining.

Match Summary: Mumbai Indians have secured a four wicket win on the penultimate ball to improve to four wins from seven matches. Batting first, Punjab XI managed to post 168 from their 20 overs, mainly thanks to David Hussey who finished 68 not out. Earlier James Franklin had secured the important wicket of Shaun Marsh and then proceeded to make 22 for Mumbai at a run a ball. That platform was then built on by Rohit Sharma, who made 50 from 30 balls. It was looking grim for the Indians until some late heroics from Ambati Rayudu and Robin Peterson helped their team to a last gasp win.

Cameron White blazed 78 off 46 deliveries to help Deccan finish their overs at 177 for four. In reply Pune struggled to create partnerships and never threatened to challenge the Charger’s total. Jesse Ryder failed to make an impact for the Warriors, making only seven runs as Pune finished 19 away from their target.
