BLACKCAPS boosted by Taylor's return

New Zealand Cricket today announced that BLACKCAPS captain Ross Taylor has recovered from the shoulder injury and is likely to lead the side in tomorrow’s One Day International against the West Indies at Warner Park, St Kitts.

Taylor landed heavily on his left shoulder while attempting to take a catch in the first Twenty20 International, sustaining an injury to his AC joint.

Speaking on the eve of the crucial fourth match Taylor said he was pleased to be fit and looked forward to making a contribution tomorrow.

“For the last two or three days I’ve been playing a full role in training and been hitting the ball nicely,” said Taylor.

“I did say two to six weeks and I’m fortunate that it’s come down to just two weeks.

“The stiffness and the pain has been going slightly and all going well it’s looking very likely I’ll play tomorrow.”

As reported earlier, all-rounder Andrew Ellis (strained left quadricep muscle) and Doug Bracewell (back stiffness) will also be available for selection for tomorrow’s match.

The playing eleven will be finalised before the start of play.
