Suzie Bates has finished off an incredible season in England by helping Kent to win the women's county championship.
In the final match of the season Kent beat Berkshire by 26 runs to finish top of Division 1 winning seven of their eight matches. Previously Kent had also been crowned women's T20 champions topping division one having won five of their seven matches. Added to being part of the Southern Vipers team who lifted the inaugural Kia Super League trophy, Bates has been leading the way in domestic success in English cricket this summer.
Former England captain Charlotte Edwards captained Bates in both Kent and the Southern Vipers and spoke about the season
"It's been a brilliant summer with a brilliant group of people and the win today was a really pleasing way to finish the season. It's been a team performance. We have got England players and we've got some of the best players in the world in our team".
Bates has played twelve games for Kent this season making an impressive 424 runs at an average of 42 with a high score of 106*. She's also taken 19 wickets at a staggering average of just 9.5.
