Australia cruise to final

Australia set up an ICC World Cup Final against Sri Lanka with a ruthless seven-wicket win over South Africa at St Lucia's Beausejour Stadium.

The world champions qualified for a fourth successive World Cup final and a rematch of the 1996 showpiece.

Unbeaten in 27 World Cup matches before this encounter, there was little danger of the run ending when the Proteas slumped to 27 for five.

Shaun Tait claimed four for 39 and Glenn McGrath three for 18 with Justin Kemp's 49 the only significant response as his team folded in 44 overs.

Australia eased to victory in the 32nd over, Michael Clarke leading the chase with an unbeaten 60.

Sri Lanka, who defeated the BLACKCAPS to reach the final, take on the title holders on Sunday morning (NZ time).
