New Zealand Post is excited to be the new sponsor of New Zealand Cricket’s elite women’s national side, the White Ferns.
New Zealand Post already partners New Zealand Cricket and the BLACKCAPS to deliver a nationwide school cricket programme through ActivePost. Today it has announced it will extend the partnership to also sponsor the women’s national cricket team.
That means New Zealand’s youngest cricketers will have access to all of cricket’s top talent this season.
“Having the White Ferns on board is a fantastic opportunity to encourage more girls to play cricket,” says New Zealand Post’s Group Brand and Community Investment Manager, Nicola Airey.
“This ActivePost cricket season is the second since taking over from Milo Cricket, and the National Schools Programme continues to go from strength to strength.
“We hope that in partnering with the White Ferns we can boost participation further and engage a whole new group of up-and-coming cricketers”.
The ActivePost National Schools Programme operates through clubs, communities and schools supporting participation, coaching and umpiring activities.
It supports the New Zealand Cricket junior programme including ActivePost Have-A-Go Cricket for five to eight year olds and ActivePost Kiwi Cricket for seven to 10 year olds.
New Zealand Post’s partnership with New Zealand Cricket saw more than 120,000 children around the country learn the skills of the game last year.
“New Zealand Cricket is fully committed to the advancement of the women’s game and this is an important step along that path,” says New Zealand Cricket chief executive, David White.
“We’re thrilled with the agreement and I know the White Ferns are looking forward to inspiring the next generation of Kiwi cricketers”.
