An epic clash between Christchurch Boys’ HS and Westlake Boys’ HS highlighted another fantastic day of cricket at Lincoln University.
Batting first, CBHS were able to post a formidable 273/9 thanks to opener Harry O’Loughlin (120 off 145), who anchored the innings alongside captain Callum Sansom (58 off 68).

Westlake were not daunted at the task ahead and managed to chip away at the score thanks to contributions from Jordan Van Zyl (69 off 96), Conor Jollivet (50 off 65) and Nishil Patel (45 off 45).
Following the dismissal of Van Zyl, Westlake captain Logan Ferguson (20* off 12) continued to tick over the score, giving his team some life.
Needing 14 off the final over, Sansom would claim two clutch wickets to give his side the win with just 4 runs to spare.
Nishil Patel (3-44) was again impressive with the ball for WBHS, while Hanroux Wessels (4-41) was the pick of the CBHS bowlers.
NBHS celebrate a wicket - NZC
On the Bert Sutcliffe Oval, Napier Boys’ HS extended their win streak to three with a 9-wicket victory against St Paul’s Collegiate.
Spin bowler Sacha Pickering (3-24) again spearheaded the NBHS bowling attack, ably supported by Monty Field (3-10).
In response, openers Zach Forster (74* off 102) and Andrew Rawnsley (52 off 91) methodically set about chasing down the target – keeping out the good ball and dispatching the bad.
Forster would carry his bat to see NBHS to victory in the 37th over.
Lucas Jeffreys on the drive for HIBS - NZC
After losing their first match, Hutt International notched their second consecutive victory today against Otago Boys.
Batting first, HIBS were able to tally an impressive 301/7 – largely thanks to the heroics of centurion Lucas Jeffreys (107 off 119) and captain Connor Gatward (98 off 94).
The two put on a remarkable 186-run stand for the third wicket.
Otago Boys’ HS struggled to gain any momentum in response, Max Boylen (40 off 33) posting the best total for the southeners.
Spinner Ollie Saunderson (5-31) again enjoyed a fine day with the ball, picking up a tidy five wicket haul to seal the win.
