The WHITE FERNS have finished their ICC Women’s World Cup warm-up matches with a seven wicket defeat to hosts England.

Scorecard

On another hot day in Derby captain Suzie Bates won the toss and elected to bat first.

The WHITE FERN batters found the going tough early on and failed to build substantial partnerships as they were eventually bowled out for 130 in the 39th over.

Katey Martin top scored with 36, while Amy Satterthwaite (24) and Maddy Green (16) also made contributions.

It took England 28 overs to reach their target, with pace bowler Lea Tahuhu and off spinner Leigh Kasperek claiming the wickets, while all-rounder Sophie Devine bowled tightly in her four overs.

The WHITE FERNS immediately relocate to Bristol ahead of their opening game of the tournament against Sri Lanka on Saturday.
