Middle order rock Katey Martin was impressive top scoring with 56, and along with Suzie Bates (33) ensured the team made it through to 133/9 from their 20 overs.
A double strike from Lea Tahuhu in her second over had the Kiwis in the contest, however, scores in the forties from Danni Wyatt (42) and captain Heather Knight (45*) ensured England reached the target at the end of the 18th over with six wickets in hand.
