WHITE FERNS v England, 2nd ODI, Derby

Posted Tuesday, July 10, 2018 in International News

The WHITE FERNS fell to England in the second ODI at Derby on Tuesday, despite a much-improved bowling and fielding performance.

Holly Huddleston impressed with the new ball, but it was the spinners who turned the tide through the middle to help bowl England out for 241.

Jess Watkin (2-30) and Leigh Kasperek (2-49) bowled with skill and accuracy and were well backed-up by a couple of stunning catches in the field by Suzie Bates and Amy Satterthwaite.

The run-chase was in early trouble as Sophie Devine, Amy Satterthwaite and Katey Martin all departed in the space of two overs.

Suzie Bates top scored with 24 runs as the innings closed on 118.
