WHITE FERNS v CA XI - as it happened

The WHITE FERNS were asked to bowl first and made an immediate impact through Lea Tahuhu and Amelia Kerr taking early wickets.

However the Cricket Australia XI's middle order fought back after the power play to have their side 70/3 after 10 overs.

Spinners Kerr and Leigh Kasperek brought the WHITE FERNS back into the contest after a strong partnership, Kerr's caught and bowled a particularly sharp chance.

Eventually the CA XI got to 149/9 from their 20 overs, Tahuhu finishing with an impressive 3/21 from her four overs and Kerr 3/15 from three overs.

Suzie Bates and Sophie Devine opened the innings for the WHITE FERNS, the pair getting off to a solid start with the blade.

Both were dismissed on 21 and a quick 15-run cameo from Jess Watkin set up an enticing last ten overs with the WHITE FERNS requiring 90 from it.

Skipper Amy Satterthwaite (25) and Maddy Green put on a valuable partnership through the middle to take the game deep.

It was then left to Green (36*) and wicket-keeper Bernadine Bezuidenhout (27*) to bring the team home, Bezuidenhout sealing the victory with a booming six over long on.

The WHITE FERNS claiming a five wicket win ahead of the first T20I against Australia on Saturday.
