LATE CHANGE: Hayley Jensen hurt her thumb in warm ups and will miss the game tonight.
On a tough deck, the WHITE FERNS dug in early on and made it through to 51/3 after nine overs.
However, the Australian bowling attack stepped up in the second half of the innings and applied the pressure, reducing the visitors to 78/8.
Katey Martin (35*) dug in for the WHITE FERNS seeing them past 100, the team eventually bowled out for 103 in 19 overs.
Early wickets were required if the WHITE FERNS were going to compete with a low total.
However, despite restricting Australia in the early overs, Alyssa Healy and Beth Mooney got set then took the game away, Healy departing late for 67 as the home side secured a nine wicket victory.
