White Ferns lose to set up series decider

Australia have bounced back from their loss beating the White Ferns by eight wickets in a rain affected match in Brisbane.

The result sees the series level at one all with one match to play as both teams look to build towards the ICC Twenty20 World Cup.

Batting first the White Ferns struggled, losing wickets at regular intervals could only manage 80 after their allotted 20 overs.

All rounder Sarah Tsukigawa top scored with 16 off 26 as the White Ferns could only manage three boundaries in their entire innings.

Australian openers Leah Poulton 33 off 31 and Lisa Sthalekar 25 off 29 made easy work of it sharing a 54 run partnership and effectively taking the match away from New Zealand.

Although the majority of the bowling was tight by the White Ferns they didn’t have enough on the board with the Australians hitting the winning runs in the thirteenth over.

The series decider is played at the same venue on 3rd June.
