Weather to the fore at Karori Park

Weather sees points shared

Posted Saturday, November 28, 2015 in Domestic News

In a 19-over match that got off to a delayed beginning due to winds strong enough to close Wellington airport, Northern Spirit were keen to get off to a positive start under new coach Emily Drumm.

However, having won the toss and opted for a bat at a fairly gloomy Karori Park, the Spirit struggled to 66 all out in exactly 19 overs, in difficult conditions.

Blaze's Deanna Doughty profited with a haul of 3-11 off her four overs, but when the weather closed in with a downpour at the break, the match headed towards an abandonment.
