The Otago Sparks delivered an excellent batting card to take away the match from the Northern Spirit in Whangarei after Northern won the toss and elected to bat.
They reached a respectable 178 off their allotted overs, with opener Anna Wilkins leading from the front with 71 runs off 112 balls.
In reply, the Otago Sparks always looked in control with most batsmen contributing as they chased down the total with four overs to spare.
Sara Tsukigawa top-scored with 67 and was ably supported by Katey Martin with 33. The teams ended their three-match weekend locked at 1-all after rain interrupted Saturday's 50 over match.
The Sparks now occupy three of the top six MVP spots with Tsukigawa fourth, Emma Campbell fifth and Martin sixth.
