Rose Bowl ODI washed out

Sprawling showers and a sodden outfield have given the umpires no choice but to abandon play without a ball being bowled in the Rose Bowl One-Day International between the White Ferns and Australia at Allan Border Field in Brisbane.

The first of three ODI’s was scheduled for Brisbane after the Canterbury Earthquake interrupted the series that was started in December 2010.

Honours were shared two-all in the Twenty20 component with the White Ferns now needing to win the remaining two one-dayers to take the Rose Bowl off current holders Australia.

The second ODI will be played on Tuesday 14 June with the final match scheduled for Thursday 16 June.
