NZA draw warm-up match

The two-day warm-up match in Harare between the Zimbabwe domestic side, the Mountaineers, and New Zealand A ended in a draw.

Mountaineers dasher Makoya starred for the home side hitting an unbeaten 208 in his teams total of 332 for seven. 

Chris Martin was the best of the New Zealand bowlers with two for 16 with Graeme Aldridge, Jeetan Patel, Nick Beard and Bhupinder Singh chipping in with one each.

Yesterday New Zealand declared overnight on 391 for eight.

The first of three four-day matches against the national side starts on Thursday 7 October.

Day 1: NZA make solid start on tour of Zimbabwe

The New Zealand A side made 389 for eight on the first day of the two-day warm-up match against Zimbabwe domestic side the Mountaineers in Harare.

Jamie How got the side off to a positive start with 78 while fellow opener Tim McIntosh retired on 64. 

The middle order were also in fine touch with wicketkeeper batsman Reece Young hitting 69 before retiring, Daniel Flynn making 78 and Dean Brownlie there at the end of the day on 40 not out.

New Zealand A will bowl tomorrow.
