NZCT NATIONAL CLUB CRICKET CHAMPIONSHIP 2018
DAY THREE
North East Valley (Otago) v Onslow (Wellington)

Onslow won by this much
On Cornwall's number one ground, Onslow dominated North East Valley with a seven-wicket victory after winning the toss and bowling first as the weather-hit tournament finally saw its first action for the week.

A tough day in the office for North East Valley
Onslow ripped through the North East Valley batting line-up, opening bowlers Daniel Rose (3-10) and Alex Ridley (2-17) doing the early damage.

It was a disastrous start for the southerners and, at 5-8 the writing was already on the wall.

Cue Malcolm Nofal (below) adding to their misery by coming on and taking a hat-trick in a devastating two-over spell in which the Wellington Firebird took 4-8.

North East was bowled out for just 42 inside 15 overs, in a match that had been reduced to 30 overs.

Onslow made short work of that chase, despite losing a couple of wickets.

Andrew Fletcher (28 not out) did the bulk of the scoring as the Wellington-based side reached 46 for three in just 11.1 overs to complete the quick victory.
