More rain frustrates Stags

The Central Stags have fallen foul of the weather for the second successive day in New Plymouth.

Today's HRV Cup Twenty20 match against the Auckland Aces at Pukekura Park was abandoned well before the scheduled start due to heavy rain in the region.

Twenty-four earlier the Stags' match against the Canterbury Wizards suffered the same fate at the same venue.

Weather permitting, two fouth round matches are due to be played tomorrow, with the Northern Knights hosting the Wizards at Mt Maunganui while the Otago Volts are playing the Wellington Firebirds at Queenstown.

The Stags' next match is against the Volts at Nelson on Monday while the Aces take on the Wizards the next day at Rangiora.
