The Canterbury Magicians made it two from two against a fresh-look Wellington Blaze, Kate Ebrahim backing up her five-wicket bag in yesterday’s seventh round with an unbeaten century in the rematch — carrying her bat in the first innings for 100 not out off 135 balls.

It was the influential veteran's ninth List A hundred overall, and set the Blaze a chase of 216 for the win - but the hosts were bowled out in the penultimate over for 201, Jess Kerr’s 44 their top score.

The Magicians’ late burst lifts them to fourth on the table, while the Hinds maintain a seven-point advantage over the field from second spot, with 10 points remaining available to each team in the regular season.

The Hinds will head to Dunedin for the last two rounds requiring just one win to claim the last remaining spot in the Final, but will need to do so against the defending champion Sparks on the Sparks' home turf in a fortnight's time - and other teams still able to bump them out, if the Sparks dominate the weekend.

Wellington Blaze and Northern Districts now formally bow out of the running for the trophy with two games remaining, however, unable to catch the leaders.
