A brilliant century from Renee Moffitt helped the Wellington Blaze to a 13-run win over the Otago Sparks in the 50-over match at Lincoln No. 3, Lincoln.
Moffitt cracked 14 boundaries in her 104 to underpin Wellington’s total of 256 while contributions also came from Lauren Ebsary (39) and Suzie McDonald (31).
Suzie Bates lead the attack with three for 36 but all of the other bowlers went for five or more runs an over.
In reply, Bates struck a brilliant 104 and Sarah Tsukigawa (42) and Katie Martin (38) chipped in, however the resistance could not last and the tourists were eventually dismissed for 239 in 48.2 overs.
Michelle Bunkall, Allex Evans and Thamsyn Newton were the pick of the Wellington bowlers, taking 3-37, 2-22 and 2-39 respectively.
