Final One Day match abandoned

Final One Day match abandoned

New Zealand A’s final One Dayer against Scotland in Edinburgh has ended in no result, after rain limited the two sides to just 8.3 over of play before being abandoned.

After a long delay before the start of play, New Zealand A won the toss and opted to bat first in what had been revised to be a 29 over match.

The kiwi side got off to a rollicking start, reaching 91-1 in style before the rain once again intervened. Tom Latham (24*) and Dean Brownlie (23*) were forced from the field and the conditions wouldn’t relent enough to allow them to return.

That washout sees the series won by New Zealand 2-0, who now go on to play Kent and Surrey in a pair of Three Day matches before returning home.
