Duffy does is for Otago

Otago have made it two from two in their Twenty20 fixtures at the Under-18 tournament in Lincoln by beating Wellington by 37 runs.

Otago were again impressive with the bat as they smashed 172 and young quick Jacob Duffy did the rest to have Wellington all out for 135.

Otago were buoyed by a strong middle-order as four players made it into the 20s and 30s. Pick of the bunch though was bright talent Josh Renton who crunched an unbeaten 60 from 37 balls.

All up Otago posted an imposing 172 for six after 20 overs.

In reply Wellington were put under the heat early and crumbled by letting two of their top-order batsmen fall to run-outs.

Brett Johnson proved harder to get rid of though as he smashed 60 to give Wellington a chance.

The rest of the batting line up though was dealt to by Duffy and he did so with ease. Duffy took three quick wickets to finish with the impressive figures of three for five from three overs.

The tail wagged for Wellington but it was never going to be enough and eventually they fell short by 37 runs at 135 for nine.
