The visitors were asked to bowl first in the second T20 in Kandy and restricted Sri Lanka to 161/9 from their 20 overs.

Seth Rance bounced back from the first T20 to take 3/33 while captain Tim Southee was once again on song with 2/18 from his four overs.

Martin Guptill pulled a stomach muscle in the fielding effort which meant Tim Seifert was elevated to open the innings with Colin Munro.

Despite losing early wickets, Colin de Grandhomme (59) and Tom Bruce (53) put on 109 runs for the fourth wicket to take the BLACKCAPS to the brink of victory.

It was then down to Mitchell Santner to hit the winning runs and ensure the visitors got the chocolates in Kandy!
