New Zealand captain Kane Williamson won the toss and elected to bowl first on a surface that had a green tinge to it.

Matt Henry struck early for the Kiwis, taking a wicket with the second ball of the day, finishing with 3-29 to claim the Player of the Match award.

Lockie Ferguson was also a strong performer with the ball, taking 3-22 and regularly clocking speeds close to 150 kms.

The New Zealand openers completed a comprehensive victory, Martin Guptill (73*) and Colin Munro (58*) both scoring half-centuries as they eclipsed the Sri Lankan total in the 17th over.
