Guptill and Taylor show the way

The BLACKCAPS unbeaten start to the home summer continues, after they overcame a Pakistan fightback and some rain to win the second GJ Gardner Homes ODI by eight wickets on DLS Method

Scorecard

Earlier rain halted proceedings at Saxton Oval in Nelson with the BLACKCAPS 64-2 in pursuit of Pakistan's 247 run-target.

Guptill (86*) and Taylor (45*) returned to chase 87 more runs in 11 overs and knocked the target off without losing a wicket and with an over to spare.

The BLACKCAPS once again started strongly with the ball, reducing the visitors to 39-3 and then 141-7, before rearguard half-centuries by Shadab Khan and Hasan Ali got them through to a competitive total.

Pakistan were further buoyed by the early wicket of the in-form Colin Munro for a duck and when they had Williamson for 17 - the momentum was with the Champions Trophy winners when the rain came.
