Half centuries from Jesse Ryder, Martin Guptill and Neil Broom helped set up a 103 run win over India in the BLACKCAPS final ICC Champions Trophy warm up match in Potchefstroom.

After winning the toss and electing to bat the BLACKCAPS compiled a formidable 301.

Ryder lashed ten fours and a six on his way to 57 off 48 deliveries with Guptill hitting a more composed 63 runs from 79 balls.

Ross Taylor (23) and Grant Elliott (30) got starts but it was Neil Broom who kicked on, blasting 66 from 46 balls in an innings that included five fours and four sixes.

Yusuf Pathan was the best of the Indian attack taking three for 46 off his ten overs.

India’s run chase started positively with Rahul Dravid and Dinesh Kartihik sharing a 58 run stand but once the first wicket fell they struggled to build any meaningful partnerships.

Abhishek Nayar and Amit Mishra lead a fightback taking the score from 130 to 197 but the dismissal of Nayar for India’s top score of 41 spelt the end as the BLACKCAPS quickly cleaned up the tail.

The wickets were shared by the bowling attack with Shane Bond, Daniel Vettori and Jacob Oram taking two apiece.
