With one month until the first tickets go on sale for the BLACKCAPS blockbuster summer series against India, NZC is urging fans to pre-register now with early indications the 12-match tour will be the hottest ticket in town.
The India tour, running October 22 to December 1, is the largest inbound tour in NZC history by match count, with five T20Is, five ODIs and two Tests across five regions.
Pre-registration is via Cricket Nation which provides fans with priority access when the first tickets become available in the August 24 pre-sale, as well as a 15% discount.
Demand for India tours of New Zealand has historically been high and with the rivalry between the two sides only getting stronger - there’s real excitement ahead of India's return to Aotearoa for the first time since 2022.
With more than double the matches this time around and the prospect of sold-out crowds across the board - NZC is bracing to set a new attendance record for an in-bound tour - targeting in excess of 150,000 tickets to be snapped up.
With so much interest and demand in the India tour - NZC Chief Marketing and Commercial Officer Glenn Critchley encouraged fans to get organised now to avoid missing out.
“It simply doesn’t get bigger in the world of sport than the Indian men’s cricket team coming to town,” he said.
“We are fully expecting this blockbuster tour to be a sell out and our message to fans is to be prepared to avoid disappointment.
“We all know Kiwis are pretty laid-back when it comes to purchasing in advance, especially for a summer sport - but this tour shapes as something quite different in terms of demand exceeding supply."
Critchley pointed to incredible recent rivalry between the two sides, the super-star power of the Indian players, and the highly-engaged Kiwi-Indian diaspora, as key drivers behind the demand.
“When you mention names like Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah and Rohit Sharma, along with 15-year-old superstar sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi - this really will be a box office spectacle.
“The BLACKCAPS of course are in good form following their historic away Test series win over England and their recent ODI series victory in the Caribbean - so it’s shaping as a cracking tour that fans will not want to miss.
“There’s nothing quite like a cricket match involving India and it’s something all Kiwis should get to experience.”
