Mike's blog: Australia tour week 4
It’s not often that any side heads into a Test match knowing you’ll be playing in front of 40,000 people.
The inaugural Day-Night pink ball Test in Adelaide will be a special event. While there’s a lot of intrigue as to how it will all actually unfold, it has sparked a huge interest in the series.
We’ve prepared well for the match, having had a valuable two-day match in Perth and a couple of good training sessions in Adelaide. We’ve learnt a lot about the ball, with one common observation being its tendency to swing more around dusk. The batmen will have to combat that and it will be interesting to see the other tactical adjustments both side will have to make.
The guys’ number one focus is walking out of the series 1-1. One of our proudest achievements over the last couple of years is reaching seven consecutive Test series undefeated. We’d love to make that eight.
The squad has improved throughout the course of the series and it’s important that we continue to trend in that direction. We know what we have to do and we’ve got one more opportunity to get out there and do it. We’ll give it 100 percent.
Thanks for the support and I hope you enjoy what’s going to be an exciting few days of Test cricket.
