The capping ceremony for BLACKCAPS Test sides takes place the eve of the Test, where players receive their caps for the match from the skipper.
It's a special occasion befitting the honour of representing the players' country.
The ceremony ahead of the 3rd Test v Pakistan starting tonight was extra special, as veteran spin bowler Dan Vettori, who made his Test debut back in 1996-97, currently sits on 111 Test caps for NZ*, equal with Stephen Fleming.
Receiving his Test cap overnight from Brendon McCullum and taking the field this evening means that he will stand alone as the most-capped BLACKCAP.
See Dan receive his cap at the BLACKCAPS capping ceremony, and hear from Mike Hesson about what the occasion means:
*he also has one Test cap for a World XI
