Isabella Gaze

Young wicketkeeper batter Izzy Gaze has charted an unusual career trajectory which saw her made her ODI debut for the WHITE FERNS before playing List-A cricket for Auckland.

A tenacious wicketkeeper hailing from Auckland she was offered her first New Zealand central contract for the 2022/23 season and made her international debut at the age of 18 against South Africa at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham where the WHITE FERNS claimed a bronze medal.

Gaze continued to take the gloves for the winter tour of the West Indies as the WHITE FERNS claimed both the One-Day and T20 series in Antigua.

Gaze showed excellent hand-eye coordination from a young age which ignited her desire to become a wicketkeeper. Her impressive catching skills paired with her inventive batting style has made her one-to-watch in women’s cricket.

Gaze was part of the New Zealand Development team which toured India in November 2022 and was selected in the New Zealand under 19 squad for the first ever ICC Women's World Cup in South Africa in February 2023.
