Record crowd set for Rose Bowl

The biggest home crowd in WHITE FERNS bilateral history is set to hit the bank of the Cello Basin Reserve next week, for the three-match Chemist Warehouse ODI series against Australia.

More than 2000 fans have reserved their free ticket to the 1st ODI on December 19 to witness the team’s first clash on home soil since being crowned ICC T20 World Cup champions.

For the first time since 2020, the trans-Tasman rivals will be competing for the Rose Bowl trophy, which currently sits in the visitors’ hands.

Established in 1985, the historic Rose Bowl One Day series is famous for being a fierce battle between the neighbouring countries.

NZC GM Marketing & Communications Stacey Geraghty said the lift in ticket reservations signalled the public’s ongoing support for the WHITE FERNS.

“We’re thrilled with the surge in interest for the Rose Bowl series,” said Geraghty.

“The Free Entry 1st ODI is expected to garner a crowd of more than 3000 which shows just how incredible the support for this team is.

“We’re not surprised Kiwi fans are jumping on the chance to see the WHITE FERNS play in New Zealand for the first time since becoming World Champions.

“It’s going to be a brilliant pre-Christmas celebration for the team and I urge fans to reserve their free ticket and be part of the atmosphere.”

Fans can look forward to plenty of photo opportunities during the series, with the World Cup trophy on display at all three matches and Santa making an appearance at the 2nd ODI.

Tickets are available here.

The WHITE FERNS 13-player squad for the series will be named later this week.
