5. General Business
New Zealand Cricket Chairman Sir John Anderson is to retire from the NZC Board at the NZC Annual General Meeting.

Sir John was appointed as the chairman of New Zealand Cricket in 1995 following the Hood Report, which modernised the structure of cricket in New Zealand, moving the game from a largely amateur based, to a professionally managed sport.

“Since 1995 Sir John has paved the way forward for a resurgence in cricket in New Zealand and his governance during that time has revitalised the sport and its finances, and has seen NZC successfully manage its way through some turbulent issues. His leadership will be missed,” NZC CEO Justin Vaughan said.

Sir John will also retire from the International Cricket Council Board on which he has been an influential member.

Board member Alan Isaac will be acting chairman until the Board meeting on 29 September, when normal annual election of chairman takes place.

Sir John's replacement on the Board will also be determined at that meeting.
