How hundred gives Stags points

Devon Hotel Central Stags 303-7 in 50 overs (Jamie How 156, Dane Cleaver 60) beat Auckland Aces 190 all out in 40.4 overs (Anaru Kitchen 59, Kieran Noema-Barnett 3-42, Tarun Nethula 2-29) by 113 runs at Eden Park Outer Oval, Auckland

The Devon Hotel Central Stags posted their first win of the season in style, posting 303 in their 50 overs on the back of Jamie How's 156 from 139 balls, before bowling the Auckland Aces out for under 200 in the 41st over. The result catapults the Stags to third, and dumps the Aces to fourth on the table.

Jamie How made the most of great batting conditions at Eden Park's Outer Oval - he hit ten fours and seven sixes, including one onto Sandringham Road, on his way to 156. He was supported by first Ben Smith (26) then Dane Cleaver (60) before the Aces bowlers, who'd taken their share of punishment, got a late run of wickets to limit the score to just over 300.

In reply the Aces never really got going - Anaru Kitchen top scored with 59, but Karl Noema-Barnett helped the Stags put a lid on any hope of a successful chase. Barnett (3-42), Tarun Nethula (2-29), Andrew Mathieson (2-49) and Martin Kain (2-23) were all successful, and the last Aces wicket fell in the 41st over, after Matt Quinn had hit 36 from 27 at the tail end of the innings.
