Stags dismiss Aces for 90 to take big win.

Aces humbled by Stags in Wellington

Devon Hotel Central Stags 146 (Kieran Noema-Barnett 41, Kuger van Wyk 34) beat Mondiale Auckland Aces 90 all out in 17.0 overs (Brad Cachopa 20, Ben Wheeler 4-8) by 56 runs at Westpac Stadium, Wellington.

Scorecard

Four wickets for Ben Wheeler rocked the Mondiale Auckland Aces back on their heels chasing the Devon Hotel Central Stags 146.

The Stags were put in by the Aces and lost early wickets, with Jamie How caught by Brad Cachopa for a duck from Matt Quinn on the first ball he faced. Will Young was aggressive, scoring 30 from 22, and when he left Kurger van Wyk (34) and Kieran Noema-Barnett (41) came together to put on 71 for the fifth wicket and form the backbone of the Stags innings.

The Aces reply got off to a poor start, losing Nicol from the fourth ball, followed by Anaru Kitchen from the sixth, both caught from Ben Wheeler's bowling. He went on to take four wickets as the Stags went through the Aces line-up to never gave them a realistic shout of victory.

Just when any Aces batsman looked to be establishing themselves the Stags were able to find wickets, with Ajaz Patel and Andrew Mathieson both taking two, and Seth Rance producing the ball of the match to dismiss Craig Cachopa for 15.
