The Junior Secondary School Boys’ competition is a secondary school competition for year nine and ten boys.
Participants compete as year nine during the first stage of the competition (term four – October to December) and then as year nine and ten during the second stage of the competition (term one of the following year – January to March).
The 2017 national finals for the NZCT Boys’ were held at Fitzherbert Park and Manawaroa Park in Palmerston North from the 27th-31st March. All games were live scored at www.blackcaps.co.nz and on the BLACKCAPS mobile app. Competing teams will enter the NZCT Boys’ competition within their region in term four of the school year playing nearby schools, with winning teams then advancing through to their regional finals. The six regional winners from around the country are invited to the national finals being held in term one of the following school year. The national finals consist of 40 over cricket played in a round robin format.
2018 will see the NZCT Boys Junior School Champs played during the New Zealand Secondary schools Summer tournament week (19-23 March, 2018) and will be played in Palmerston North at Fitzherbert Park.
