Nominations are now CLOSED for the 2023 Community Cricket Awards!
The Awards are designed to celebrate those people and programmes within the Cricket Network, who have gone above and beyond the call of duty to uphold NZC's values and principles.
These awards are celebrated at the ANZ New Zealand Cricket Awards held at the close of each season.
Note: The below awards will be announced 23rd March, 2023.
Club of the Year:
The 2022/23 Community Cricket Club of the Year award acknowledges a cricket club that displays good practice and strengths in areas such as: planning, leadership, financial management, volunteer strategy, membership, coach and player development and community engagement. The Community Cricket Club of the Year award is open to all cricket clubs with the winning club being one that has had an outstanding impact on the community.
This award will be open to public nomination as well as nomination by major associations/district associations
Volunteer of the Year:
The 2022/23 Community Cricket Volunteer of the Year award acknowledges a volunteer who shows passion and commitment to cricket that exceeds expectations. This award is designed to recognise the valuable contribution that volunteers make to cricket in the community. The Community Cricket Volunteer of the Year award is open to any club/school volunteer (board or committee member, club/school stalwart, groundstaff, clubrooms volunteer or any other volunteer who puts their time into the club/school).
This award will be open to public nomination as well as nomination by major associations/district associations
Community Cricket Official of the Year:
The 2022/23 Community Cricket Official of the Year acknowledges an official who has been responsible for officiating community cricket and has shown outstanding passion and commitment, upholding the spirit of cricket during the current and past seasons. The Community Cricket Official of the Year award is open to all club/school umpires and scorers.
This award will be open to public nomination as well as nomination by major associations/district associations
Outstanding Contribution to Cricket:
The 2022/23 Outstanding Contribution to Cricket award recognises an individual who has made a significant contribution to community cricket over many years. The award is open to major associations/district associations/clubs/schools with the recipient having demonstrated commitment and passion towards community cricket for several years.
This award will be opened up to public nomination as well as nomination by major associations/district associations
Cricket Activator of the Year:
The 2022/23 Community Cricket Activator of the Year award recognises an association’s community cricket delivery staff member or activator, who has shown outstanding passion and commitment towards the delivery of cricket within their area. This award is open to all major associations’/district associations’ community cricket delivery staff.
Outstanding Contribution and Services to Coaching:
The 2022/23 Outstanding Contribution to Coaching award recognises an individual who has made a significant contribution to community coaching over many years. The award is open to major associations/district associations/clubs/schools with the recipient having demonstrated commitment and passion towards coaching and developing players at the community level for several years.
This award will be opened up to public nomination as well as nomination by major associations/district associations
Best Female Engagement Initiative:
The 2022/23 Community Cricket Best Female Engagement Initiative award acknowledges an association/club/school for a cricket engagement initiative which provides females with a quality cricket experience during the cricket season. The Community Cricket Best Female Engagement Initiative award is open to major associations/district associations/clubs/schools, the initiative would have encouraged females to participate in cricket, provide opportunities for participants to improve their skills and lead into further female cricketing opportunities.
Best Diversity and Inclusion Initiative:
The 2022/23 Community Cricket Best Diversity and Inclusion Initiative award acknowledges an association/club/school for a cricket engagement initiative which provides an innovative way to support opportunities for a diverse and inclusive cricket experience. The Community Cricket Best Diversity and Inclusion Initiative award is open to major associations/district associations/clubs/schools, the initiative would have encouraged communities to participate in cricket who may have previously been overlooked, provide opportunities for participants to improve their skills and lead into unique cricketing opportunities.
Community Cricket Collaboration Initiative of the Year:
The 2022/23 Community Cricket Collaboration Initiative of the year award acknowledges an association/club/school for a cricket engagement initiative that has formed community lead partnerships, fostered collaboration and created new opportunities to provide positive outcomes within their cricket community. The Community Cricket Collaboration Initiative of the year award is open to major associations/district associations/clubs/schools, who have forged a partnership within or outside of the cricket Network, strengthening cricket within their community.
