Further Coach Development Opportunities

Level 1 Coach

The Level 1 course is for the coach of 12-18-year old secondary students playing youth cricket for schools, clubs or districts. The coach should have some knowledge and/or playing experience of cricket.

This course focuses on detailed planning and evaluation, understanding and using the principles of bio-mechanics to coach, analysing and improving skills, and understanding the coaching process and effective coaching, including tactics.

Level 2 Coach

The Level 2 course is for coaches of 11-a-side teams who have an active coaching record and a commitment to coaching. They will be coaching or identified to coach District Association senior teams, premier club teams and school 1st XI’s or Major Association underage teams.

This course concentrates on detailed planning and evaluation, understanding and using principles of bio-mechanics to coach, analysing and improving skills, and understanding the coaching process and effective team coaching, including game tactics.

Performance Coach Programme

The Performance Coach Programme is part of the NZC Coaching Framework and it has been created specifically to meet the needs of men’s and women’s coaches working with performance players in performance environments. The aim of the programme is to focus on developing and equipping coaches with the knowledge, skills , thinking and experiences to work effectively with performance level players and teams.
