Scott Kuggeleijn

The son of former New Zealand Test batsman Chris Kuggeleijn, Scott Kuggeleijn has proven to one of the fastest bowlers in New Zealand and a handy lower order batsman.

Kuggeleijn began his domestic career with Wellington and was the leading wicket-taker in the 2016/17 Ford Trophy with 17 wickets as the Firebirds reached the Grand Final. His efforts saw him named in the BLACKCAPS ODI squad for the 2017 Ireland Tri-Nations series and he made his international debut against Ireland, dismissing William Porterfield his first ODI wicket.

He made the move to Northern Districts ahead of the 2018/19 season and helped his side reach the Super Smash final against the Central Stags at Seddon Park.

He made his T20 international debut in a one-off T20 against Sri Lanka in January 2019 and has featured sporadically in the national T20 side since. He picked up career-best figures of 3-27 in the first T20 against Pakistan in December 2020.

A three-format BLACKCAP, he was called in to the Test squad for the 2023 home series against England and made his Test debut in the first Test - a day-nighter - at Bay Oval.

Kuggeleijn has played in international leagues around the world, including for Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL and the St Lucia Kings in the Caribbean Premier League.
