Mental skills, physical conditioning, team-building and of course some cricket, are all on the cards for the WHITE FERNS at their Lincoln training camp which begins this weekend.
The 15-player squad departs for the Northern Hemisphere on June 1stwhere they will take on Ireland, England and South Africa on a six-week tour.
Head coach Haidee Tiffen said the team is determined to leave no stone unturned in their preparation.
“The camp will be a great chance to take stock of where everyone is at following the summer and to really plot our course for an important international season ahead.
“We’ll be looking to test out the players physically and mentally and really set a standard, ahead of what will be a challenging tour to the North.
“NZC has provided us with additional support in the form of a dedicated mental skills resource and we’re also really excited to have Nick Webb join us full-time as Strength and Conditioning coach. The support around the team has never been better and we’re determined to make the most of it.”
There’ll be plenty of interest in Central Hinds all-rounder Jess Watkin and Northern Spirit wicket-keeper-batswoman Bernadine Bezuidenhout, who have both been selected in the WHITE FERNS for the first time.
The 15-player squad will train at Lincoln until the middle of next week before assembling in Auckland on June 1st to fly out to Dublin.
