Lehmann in hot water

Former Australian Test batsman Darren Lehmann has been reprimanded by English county side Yorkshire after making 'an obscene gesture' during a Twenty20 match with Lancashire.

Lehmann apparently made the gesture after he caught Lancashire batsman Paul Horton during the match on Friday (English time).

"Yorkshire do not condone this behaviour and have met Darren to discuss the matter," chief executive Stewart Regan told the club's website.

"Darren apologises for his behaviour which was a spur of the moment reaction after being barracked by the Lancashire fans. The club have dealt with the matter internally and are confident it will not happen again."

Regan said his club had already apologised to its fierce local rivals.

"Yorkshire have contacted Lancashire and apologised to the committee, players and fans for this incident which was a black mark on an otherwise enjoyable evening."

Yorkshire won the game by 15 runs.
